Father John was ordained on 24 June 1891, at St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Grand Rapids by Bishop Henry J. Richter.
He read his first mass at Grand Rapids, Michigan and arrived to serve the parish in Beal City, Michigan on
9 Oct 1892. He left Beal City Jan 1905 because of ill health and died at Ladysmith, Wisconsin.
Wanted to transfer because he did not want to be a hospital chaplain, which he was going to be
required to do because of his health.
